Frequently Asked Questions

* What areas do you cover for mobile treatments?

We are based in the Redhill / Reigate area and cover the local surrounding areas in Surrey and the South East within approximately a 10 mile radius, including Redhill, Reigate, Merstham, Earlswood, Banstead, Coulsdon, Caterham, Chipstead, Kingswood, Tadworth, Godstone, Warlingham, Epsom, Oxted, Purley, Woldingham, Bletchingly, Nutfield, Lingfield, Croydon, Crawley and many other areas. * What if I live slightly outside the area covered but want to make an appointment?

We are able to provide treatments outside of this area, subject to the services required. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

 

* Do you offer treatments in workplaces, e.g. on my lunch break?

We can offer treatments in the workplace, provided this is acceptable within the company policy. We would also recommend you take into consideration what treatment you would like, with regards to time limits and space availability, and for our relaxing treatments, if there is a quiet area available for you to relax.

 

* Where is a good place in my home to have a treament?

We recommend you consider the nature of the treatment when deciding where in your home to have the treatment. Some of our equiptment, such as massage tables and spray tan tents can take up space so we would appreciate if you can ensure there is adequate room for the treatment. We also advise you choose an area which you feel comfortable and can relax in. If you are unsure, please feel free to contact us.

 

* Do I need to provide anything if I am having a treatment at home?

Not at all... Your therapist will bring all the equiptment and products required. You meerly need to provide yourself and enjoy your treatment!

* Can I have more than one treatment at a time?

Of course! So long as the treatments are compatible, for example, we advise not to have a waxing and spray tan treatment at the same time as the pores of the skin are open which will effect the outcome of the tan, but most treatments work perfectly well together. We also recommend you have a look at our beauty packages which are designed to combine treatments for a reduced rate.

 

* I would like to personalise my treatment by changing it slightly. Is this possible?

Yes absolutely! We are able to adapt any treatments to suit your specific needs and requirements. Please mention how you would like to alter your treatment when booking to ensure the therapist brings all the correct equiptment for a more personalised treatment.

 

* Can I have a treatment with a friend / my partner?

We are able to accommodate this by either sending two therapists (depending on availability) or carrying out one treatment on one person followed by another on the other person. We also recommend viewing our pamper parties which are designed for more than one person.

 

* Do you need to take any information from me before my treatment?

If you are a new client we will ask you to kindly fill out a consultation form. Any information given will be kept strictly confidential and will  not be shared with any third parties. Please see our privacy policy for more information.

 

* I have a certain health issue. Are there any treatments I should avoid?

This completely depends on the health issue and whether it could be affected by any beauty treatments. We recommend you contact us in confidence to discuss this and if you are concerned, also your GP. We are more than happy to provide treatments to pregnant women but again would recommend you contact your GP in advance.

Nail Services

* What does LCN mean?

LCN stands for Light Concept Nails and our gel nails are provided LCN products, a leading brand in nail technology.

 

* What is the difference between gel and acrillic nails?

Acrillic nails tend to be more harsh to the natural nail, where as gel nails are softer and more friendly to the natural nail.

 

* Can I have a colour instead of French manicure style gel nails?

Yes, you can choose from our wide selection of colours available.

 

* Do you offer nail art with gel nails?

Yes, we have a selection of gems available with can be added to the gel nails.

 

* How often are infills for gel nails required?

This can depend on the growth of your natural nails, as to how much the gel nails have grown out. On average gel nails are infilled approximately every 3 - 4 weeks.

 

* I have been chewing my nails since I was a child and wondered if gel nails would help my natural nails to grow?

Yes most definately. It would take a little commitment from you, especially if the nail is bitten beyond the nail edge, but it is possible to coax the nail to grow normally. The cost of treatment for gel nails over damaged nails would be less than the price given due to the succession of visits which would be needed.

 

* What is a Jessica Geleration manicure / pedicure?

Jessica geleration involves applying a layer of gel overlay onto the natural nail. The overlay compliments the natural nail shape and gel can be chosen in a colour of your choice from the Jessica nail brand collection. Geleration can be applied to fingers and toes.

 

* How long does a Jessica Geleration manicure / pedicure last?

Geleration manicures and pedicures are chip resistant and therefore last for up to 3 weeks.

 

* What are nail wraps?

Nail wraps are a new popular nail craze which involves applying a wrap over the nail to compliment the natural nail shape. They are available in many colours and patterns and therefore provide a funky style which cannot be achieved with nail varnish alone. Nail wraps can be applied to fingers and toes.

 

* How long do nail wraps last?

Nail wraps last approximately 2 - 3 weeks.

 

* I have a specific pattern / colour I would like to have nail wraps in. Is there any way I can check you have this available before I book a treatment?

Yes, if you know exactly what you want please state upon booking so we can check if we have that style or alternatively, order in the style you request. As we hope you will appreciate, with so many patterns and colours available from many different suppliers, we often stock the most popular choices and therefore it is advised you check with us first if you would like something specific so we can cater to your needs.

 

* What is the difference between the Express, normal and Luxury manicure and pedicures?

The Express manicure and pedicure is a basic manicure involving reshaping of the nail, cutical work and a paint colour or conditioner, all of which takes 30 minutes. The standard manicure or pedicure includes the same as the express but with a massage included and takes 1 hour. The luxury manicure or pedicure includes the additional use of heated mitts or booties within the manicure and takes 1 hour 15 minutes.

Spray Tanning

* What Spray Tan product do you use?

We use Sunless Solutions tan which is available in a range of tan shades and can be chosen depending on client needs. Please bare in mind that results will vary according to skin type and natural colour. Your therapist will be happy to advise you which shade will be suitable for your requirements.

 

* What ingredients are in the tan?

Sunless Solutions tan contains two key ingredients. Erythrulose is a natural keto-sugar which reacts with primary or secondary amino acid groups to form the polymer, Melanoidin. Erythrulose used in combination with DHA produces a more even and longer lasting tan without the undesired streaks and without looking 'orange'. DHA stands for Dihydroxyacetone and DHA is an ingredient derived from sugar cane, which reacts with the amino acids in the skin to create the darkening reation or tan. Both ingredients work together to prolong the tan and leave the skin feeling less dry.

 

* Am I able to just have a certain area of my body spray tanned, rather than having a full body spray tan?

Yes absolutely. We offer spray tanning to either the whole body, or just specific areas. Please see our spray tanning page to view the different types of tans available.

 

* How long does the tan last?

Your tan should last between 7 - 10 days. You can extend you tan by following the aftercare advice given below and your therapist will also provide you with advice after your spray tan.

 

* Is there anything I can do before or after having a spray tan to make it last longer?

It is recommended to exfoliate the area which will be spray tanned before the tanning session, as this will remove dead skin cells from the body, thus allowing the tan to 'sink in' more easily. For best results, exfoliation, shaving or waxing should take place a minimum of 8 hours before the tan. Aftercare will be provided by your therapist and often includes moisturising daily following your spray tan in order to prolong the tan and the use of PH balanced shower gels when washing.

 

* How long does the tan take to fully dry and when will I see the results?

The tan dries fairly quickly, within a matter of minutes, and an air dry is provided to speed up the process. The tan then continues to develop for a further 12 hours. After this time the top layer of tan should be showered off (you will see colour in the water as the top layer is the colour guide) and the rest of the tanned area should be patted dry with a towel to leave you with your final tan colour.

 

* What if tanning solution gets on my clothes after the spray tan?

It is recommended that you wear dark, loose fitting clothes after your tan has been applied. However, normal laundering should work with a pre-treatment for any stubborn staines.

 

* What should I wear for a spray tan?

Your therapist will provide you with a shower cap hat to protect your hair and paper pants to wear. If you would prefer to wear a bra during your spray tan, choose an old bra which you would not mind if spray tan colour went onto, or alternatively a black bra would not stain.

 

* Where is a good place to have the spray tan in my home?

Your therapist will bring a spray tan tent which simply pops up where ever it is opened! The tanning takes place with the client standing in the tent to be sprayed. The tent ensures the tan stays inside the tent area so you do not have to worry about mess. We recommend you allow space for the tent to be set up in an area which is not carpeted, for example, a kitchen or bathroom would be ideal.

 

* If I have spray tans regularly should I let my skin rest from spray tanning?

It is recommended that every 5 weeks you allow your skin to rest for 7-10 days. This will allow you to completely remove any tan from your skin, which will eliminate patchiness and areas of wear.

 

* Is it safe for me to have a spray tan if I am pregnant?

Sunless Solutions tanning solutions are a non toxic, food grade product that is not known to have any detrimental effects to an expectant mother. However, we would recommend you consult your doctor before tanning.

 

 

 

Lash & Brow Services

* Do I need a patch test before I have a tint?

Yes most definately, even if you have had a test in the past, changes in your skin may mean you could have a reaction to the tint. You should have a patch test 48 hours before treatment. Patch tests are free of charge when booking a tint treatment.

 

* Can I have my eyebrows tinted and waxed at the same time?

Yes these treatments can be combined with the tint first, followed by the wax treatment.

* How do I book a treatment or beauty package?

There are many way to book using the details on our contact page, where you will find our contact numbers for you to call or text, our email address or alternatively a contact form to fill in. Please state what treatments you would like, the area in which you live and your preferred date and time for the treatments. If we are unable to answer a call please leave a message and we will aim to reply to any voicemails, texts and emails as soon as possible.

 

* What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept cash or cheque payments, or a valid Ooh la la gift voucher. Unfortunately we are currently unavailable to accept card payments.

 

* What if I need to cancel my appointment? Will I be charged a cancellation fee?

We would appreciate at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel your treatment and we do not charge a cancellation fee. However, should the therapist arrive and you cancel at the time of your appointment without prior notification, unfortunately the full cost of the treatment will incur.

 

* I have a health issue. Do I need to inform my therapist of this before I have a treatment?

Yes, please inform us at the time of booking of any health issues or medical conditions we may need to be aware of, including pregnancy. We will then be able to advise you accordingly of suitable treatments for you.

 

* Do you have insurance? / Are you a member of a recognised beauty therapy society?
